90s cartoon.. HEAVEN!! =D
aaahh~! I’m damn bored here in theoffice.. The semester break is still on and currently teaching only twoclasses. So most of the time, we'd be 'yam cha-ing' or in the computer lab, browsing youtube, facebook-ing and entertain ourselves. Since I have a LOT offree time, I started digging the net for cartoon series and all my childhoodentertainment that I liked (yee.. yeee.. still like lah! =D). I don’t know boutyou guys, but for me.. The 90s was super exciting..
Who could have forgotten aboutThundercats, among the most memorable 90s cartoon. I even had a sword of omenmyself, which was used to abuse people around me. =D and the silly song"cheetara lari laju, tak pakai baju.." hahahah yes, u sing it like thetheme song. Who could have forgotten bout that huh? Aaa.. And they also havethe most memorable villain, Mambraaaa,,, =D
Another personal favorite would beMacross a.k.a. Robotech. I'm a sucker for transforming mechas and jet fighter. It got me hooked and determined to be a fighter pilot, but I dropped it laterfor a waaayy cooler profession, a 'Tok Mudim' or circumciser. Ha ha. So ganas usee, that's why I liked it. Owh, back to the anime.. My favorite characterwould be Roy Fokker, ace pilot of the UN spacey. He died halfway throughout theseries and I actually cried. =p
Talking bout transformation, everybody knows the Transformer. I liked all of the series but my personalfavorite would be the headmasters. The series was produced by the Japanese andit required a human to merge with the mechas to transform. wohooo... it wassuper psych!!
Another favorite would be Voltron:The defender of the universe!!! huhuhuhu.. now that is a classic. 5 lionmechas, combining to form a super robot, voltron! and to be honest, I used tohave a crush on the princess, she's the one in the blue lion =p
This one is a bit rare because itran only for one season. It is called King Arthur and the knight of justice.it's a story bout a team of footballers being transported back to Arthurian ageto replace King Arthur and his knight of the round table who were held captivein the frozen cave. The new knights were armed with magical armour and cansummon a guardian beast. wohooo.. those were the days..
Another rare cartoon would be ananimation simply named dino rider. The story is about a people from somedistant planet coming to prehistoric earth, escaping from their enemy who hasconquered their homeworld. They tamed the dinosaurs to be used in their battlethrough some hypnotic power and the enemy, placed some mind controlling ring onthe dinosaurs. Armed with all rockets and blasters, the dinosaurs are suuuperrcool. It came out with merchandises and what not and kids would be screamingand spinning on the floor wanting them.
Some of you guys might not recallthis one. It is called spiral zone. It’s an American production cartoon about aspiral zone, conquered by an evil scientist using a mind controlling bacteria. So a group of elite soldiers armed with a special suit fights to liberate thecontaminated area. The notable thing bout this cartoon is the monowheel vehiclewith kick ass armaments.
M.A.S.K.!! I bet every kid back inthe 90s know this one all too well. =D the story is about a special force withsuper powerful mask and transforming vehicles. wohooo.. I bet u still rememberwhen the red sports car transformed into a jet by just opening the door =p..
This blog entry wouldn't be comple teif I didn't mention about saber rider and the star sheriff! Now that's a greatanimation. A sheriff with black robotic steed. A saber that can cutthrough almost everything. A Japanese car racer.. A space cowboy..Swedish chic and a large transforming jet/robot. And the opening theme is verycontagious, with a western ala cowboy sound "saaaberr.. riider.. and thestar sheriff, in the sky!" =D
Well.. I think that I should stopnow.. I have a handful more to mention, but that would take forever. Othermemorable ones would be tosho daimos, a gigantic transforming truck. Captainplanet and the planeteers. The pink panther. My little pony... and I evenwatched Jem.. The Ghostbusters.. Inspector gadget.. Smurf.. She-ra.. Teenagemutant ninja turtles.. and the list goes on.. hahahah those were the days. *reminiscing
